Everyone has the ability to just call out and say "I Quit" and very few can follow through with there initial goal.  Statistics show that following through to quit smoking with out a plan, support and/or program will end up in a lost battle.  There are some quit smoking programs that everyone should look into for guidance.  Here are a few programs you could look into to help quit smoking.

Telephone support 1-800-QUIT NOW – If you have quit already or are in the thought process of quitting you can contact a trained counselor for free support.  One of the staff members will be able to direct you to information on programs in your area.  If you don’t know of any give them a call and ask for local programs available.

I’m not too sure if you have heard of aversion therapy, but it is something that some could consider.  It’s not your usual type of program but it has shown some promising results.  What is aversion therapy?  Aversion therapy is a 9 volt battery that will send you a light to mild electric shock while you smoke a cigarette.  The percentages of helping smokers quitting are very high in the upper 90’s using this form of therapy but relapses do still occur.  Although its solid statistics do show good results, finding this type of therapy might be a little difficult due to its somewhat harsh nature.

Aside from these regular programs you might want to consider also supplementing yourself with reading material to help you combine your efforts in quitting to smoke.  You can easily pick up so much information and also relate to an author to help ease the stress on quitting while at the same time motivating you.

If you’re considering other quit smoking programs such as alternative therapies like herbal remedies, hypnosis and or acupuncture you might leave yourself disappointed and left back at square one with trying to quit smoking.  Studies have shown that such methods have been ineffective then other ways.

There are so many different quit smoking programs available to you.  If you are ready to quit and have decided to take the action with guidance then reach out to such programs and follow through.  Accept it and don’t look back.  Quit smoking programs can help aid stress relief from quitting to smoke and help support your decision as you follow through until the end.
